We met another family at the Orange County Fair and ran into my cousin. We had a great time walking the fair, eating fair food, feeding the animals and eventually getting Jack on one ride -- the ferris wheel. Our friends were ever so patient as their daughter (same age as Jack) was ready to go on every ride...but Jack was not. He just barely reached the 36 inches min. height requirement (with big shoes and hair) so rides were a new thing to him and he wasn't so into them. But he wanted to go on the ferris wheel, although when we actually went to sit down on it, he cried and cried and put his hands over his ears. He eventually stopped crying but kept his hands over his ears the entire time.
