August 2010 Milestones

Jack:
-totally hooked on MarioKarts Wii
-buckle and unbuckle his own car seat; and unbuckle his sister's car seat
-loves Scooby-Doo
-learning to write lower case letters

While driving in Hawaii and looking at the scenic mountains...
Jack: Mommy, there is a volcano and it is on fire!
Susan: Why do you think it is on fire?
Jack: Because there is smoke (low clouds) coming out of the top. We must call the fire department!

While playing MarioKarts Wii...
Jack: Mommy, there is too much traffic!

After leaving Target....
Jack: Mommy, does Target have a chimney?
Susan: No, why?
Jack: Then how does Santa get into Target to get to all the toys?

Brooke:
-potty trained!!-sleeps in a big girl bed
-loves to help with just about everything; unloading dishwasher, laundry, getting things out of the refrigerator
-counts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10
-can draw a circle
-favorite phrases are "so sad", "so tired", "okay, I will" and "up a hill water" (for Jack and Jill go up a hill to fetch a pail of water)
-favorite songs are "twinkle-twinkle little star" and "rock-a-bye-baby"

While in Hawaii, Brooke snuck upstairs while Uncle Sam was going to the bathroom. When he was done...
Brooke: Sam, wash hands.
Sam washes his hands and turns back to Brooke.
Brooke: Sam, soap.

The doorbell rang...
Brooke: Pizza!
