Brooke had her 4 year old well check appointment today. All is good - she checks out right on track. She is 34 lbs (50%) and 39.2 inches in height (45%). I was actually surprise that she was only in the 45% for height as she just seems so much taller for a (almost) 4 year old. Her vision is 20/30, which is age appropriate. She had two vaccines and was on her way. According to the doctors check list of what a 4 year should be able to - she covers it all off except for one:
-jumps in place
-speech is clear to strangers
-pedals bike or tricycle
- can identify 3 colors correctly
-plays cooperatively at times
-uses "me" and "you"
-washing and dries hands
-brushes teeth
-climbs a ladder (for a slide)
-counts to 5
-can walk on tip toes
-draws a person with 2-4 parts
-unbuttons clothes
-copies some letters, a circle and a cross
-can track a square
-understands same and different
-balance on 1 foot for 3-4 seconds
-asks "when", "why", "how", etc.
-sings songs (and boy does she!)
-dresses and undresses self
-engage in imaginative play with toys
-toilet trained night and day
-tells stories
-cuts and pastes
-plays simple board games
-draws a circle
-buttons
The one she doesn't do... or rather I don't know if she does is: pours water from a pitcher into a cup. And that is simply because we've never allowed her to!
