Half way through our stay at my parent's house, Brooke complained of her ear hurting her -- she did it several times during the day, to several different adults, at different times. The next morning, she woke up with a low grade fever (100). I watched her closely to ensure the fever didn't go up too high -- it only got as high as 101 -- to make sure it wasn't another PFAPA fever episode. Since it didn't get into the 102 - 104 range, I was confident it was an ear infection. Esp. when an hour after she woke up, she crawled onto the couch and fell asleep again -- for almost 2 hours -- with all the household noise around her (she is typically a light sleeper). Even with antibiotics, she has a low grade fever for about 3 days and then it cleared up.
Our lives have forever changed being parents to Jack and Brooke. We are fortunate to have them as our children and welcome you to read about our amazing life with them.
