Murphy update

We found out our Murphy is in kidney failure. We sent him to the vets for two days worth of treatments. And I'm happy to say that Murphy is home once again. We have learned that a high but normal kidney level is 39. A level of 80 is when they stop eating and its time. When Murphy went in, his level was at 57. After a day of treatments, it was down to 50 but he wasn't eating. But it seems overnight and the next day, he started to eat and his level came down to the mid-high 40 range.
However, due to the kidney failure, he now has high blood pressure and just to add another thing, has low potassium. So we will be giving him shots of fluids with an IV bag for the next three days, then every other day until his next appointment (in about a weeks time). Additionally, he'll be taking a pill for high blood pressure and a pill for potassium.

As much as I love this cat, I'm still a bit in shock we're giving a cat IV fluid shots... but if you know Murphy, you know why.
