Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

Christmas Eve was perfect. Sitting as a family in front of the fire. Making cookies for Santa. Leaving out milk for Santa. Reading "The Night Before Christmas". And this conversation:
Jack: Will Santa come down our chimney?
Me: Yes.
Jack: Why?
Me: To bring you and Brooke presents.
Jack: Why doesn't he just come through the front door?

Making (eating) cookies.
Enjoying the fire.

We had a wonderful Christmas morning. Jack woke up and I went to lay in bed with him until 7am. Then we got Daddy up, then Brooke... while Jack peeked down stairs to see some presents by the fireplace. When we got downstairs, Jack looked to see if Santa ate the two cookies we had left out. He said that Santa must not have come because there was half a cookie left... but then he saw all the milk was gone so Santa must have come... but that he (Jack) had to eat the rest of Santa's cookie; so that is how our Christmas morning started -- Jack eating the left of Santa cookie before opening the presents!

Brooke opening a present.
Jack opening a present.

Santa brought Jack a bulldozer and two trains: Spencer and Henry. Santa brought Brooke a puzzle, Elmo and a dollhouse. After all the presents were opened, we had a nice big breakfast. After a brief clean up, we went to Scott's Dad's house for the afternoon and Christmas dinner. We tried to have the kiddos nap there, but instead Jack decided to keep Brooke awake the whole time and pull the netting that was over the canopy bed down.... and break all four posts.

After dinner while everyone was relaxing, Jack says: Mommy, I'd like to eat some of pumpkin pie.
Me: okay, but we're about to open presents; do you want to open presents first?
Jack: Nope, I want to eat your pumpkin pie!
That's MY boy!!!
