T-ball

We started T-ball with Jack this weekend. Scott went out last week and got him the t-ball gear and they started practicing right away - hitting the ball on the t, grounders and throwing. Jack continues to ask to practice and can stand out there hitting the ball for hours.

Hitting the ball so hard you can barely see the bat.
About to throw the ball to Daddy...
...and release.

Practicing grounders.

We had Jack's first T-ball practice/game today. Jack loved it and did great with it (if I do say so myself!). Scott had been telling me that Jack really seems to have a natural skill for baseball but I really had no baseline of knowledge. But after seeing some of the other kids, I'd have to agree with Scott. Jack was able to hit the ball off the T on the first try; many kids had several attempts. Most kids had issues trying to catch grounders (you know, the whole watching the ball roll right past them), but Jack went after the few balls that went anywhere near him.

Jack running the bases.

In the field during the game. Many Dads stood behind the kids to help tell them what to do.
