Brooke started speech therapy in November 2009. She was approved for 6 months... so that ends this month. Apparently to quality for continued speech therapy, a child needs to be 33% delayed or for Brooke, speak at an 18 month level (I thought with the budget cuts, it was now 50%, but whatever). Recent testing on Brooke shows her speech at a 21 month old. She is 27.5 months old, so that is 6.5 month delayed or a 23.6% delay.
Scott talk to the therapist because she said that Brooke can say 3 words together, but Scott showed her how we've worked with Brooke to say "Daddy drink please". She can say each word individually but not all 3 together. The therapist said she'd look into it because Brooke is probably boardline to requality. Scott hinted that we'd like to keep her in therapy - although she is talking much better (2 words together, tries to repeat words, babbles all the time), she is still clearly behind.
