Ladybugs and Butterflies

For Christmas, Aunt Zanne gave Jack a ladybug and butterfly habitat where you send away for the babies to then watch them grow. It took us a while but we finally sent away for them and spent several weeks watching them grow. I think the kiddos were more excited about the ladybugs as they moved around more than the caterpillars, although Scott and I were more intrigued by the caterpillars. We were disappointed that we didn't see any of the butterflies come out of the cocoons. Regardless it was fun to do and something I can see us doing again.

Excited about the babies.

Checking out the baby ladybugs in their habitat.

Watching the caterpillars starting to form their cocoons.

Transferring the cocoons to their butterfly habitat.

Letting go the ladybugs.

Letting go the butterflies.
