In the evening, after the very little ones were asleep, four of the older children pulled their chairs away from the fire and made their own little circle under the canopy tent. As us "old" folks chatted by the fire, the 3 to 6 years olds were having their own circle of conversation. It made me sad, yet happy at the same time. My babies don't need me like they use to, yet they are growing into their own with their own conversations, their own friends, their own memories. And I'm just blessed to shepard that and witness it.

Labor Day weekend marked the start of college football for Scott -- his own personal Christmas day. And my gift to him was to give him a few hours of piece and quiet at home to watch a few games, so I took the kiddos to the Science Discovery Museum.
