Kazakh Christmas Party 2012

Every January, our friends in San Diego throw a Kazakhstan Christmas party. Families in the area come to celebrate the Kazakhstan Christmas and the joy that our adoptions have brought us. This year, Jack really understood that most of the kids were born in Kazakhstan and adopted (there are a few bio kids).

We've been going for a few years now and each year it gets bigger. Since we haven't been in the throws of the adoption process for several years now, it was interesting to go to this party and rekindle those memories.... the painful paper-process, the agonizing wait, the indescribable joy of seeing your child for the first time.

Perhaps right now, the parents get more out of these gatherings. But maybe one year, the kiddos will appreciate knowing and talking to other Kazakh adoptees.
